For Jeff Black, woodworking is a meditative outlet — not unlike listening to music. The tactile process of putting on an old vinyl record, the sensorimotor experience of sanding down a piece of wood… it all goes together.

An avid record enthusiast, Jeff took on one of his first big woodworking projects as his post-Covid collection began to overtake the living room. The custom vinyl cabinet, with spaces carved out specifically for the turntable and speakers, was a true labor of love; a matching amp stand soon followed.

Now, operating out of a workshop in Old Spring Branch, Jeff combines his organizational habits (IYKYK), carpentry skills, and passion for music with Lucky Boy.

Lucky Boy currently sells custom-built music storage, French cleat systems, and anything else a reform-minded and slightly subversive homeowner might want.
